Goth Babe plays a hometown show at Edgefield in Portland, Oregon 10/5.
Goth Babe packed out a hometown show in Portland, Oregon on Saturday night.
When I first moved to Oregon a few years ago one of my good friends told me I needed to check out this artist called Goth Babe. I had just finished a cross country trip focused on creating and spending time in nature with my dog; my friend mentioned Goth Babe is also a fellow van lifer/traveling artist. I was instantly intrigued, from that point on it’s been on our daily playlists ever since.
When I walked into the venue I immediately felt warm and invited from the crowd, before the music had even started fans were excitedly dancing waiting for Goth Babe to arrive.
Goth Babe consistently kept the crowd engaged during his set. A few songs in, he brought out a giant inflatable pizza slice for a fan to surf the crowd in, while inflatable beach balls were tossed around adding to the joyous chaos.
He brought out a couple of the local venue staff to compete at Mario Kart on the visual screen behind him, each of them representing a side of the crowd to win.
The crowd was also split in half to compete in a dance off, and the winning side won a cardboard cut out of a bear.
The show had so much fun and playful energy, the night felt like a celebration of art and bringing the community together.
